Blackpool Art Society was originally formed in 1884. It is one of the oldest Art Societies in Britain
Our aim is to encourage members to experiment with and enjoy all forms of art. Our members are a mix of leisure painters of all abilities and professional artists. Our interests are very diverse, encompassing traditional and contemporary styles in all kind of media. This makes our exhibitions really interesting and dynamic events.
The day to day running of the Society is handled by a dedicated Committee of unpaid elected volunteers.
We have our own studio which was purpose built in 1972. The studio facilities are available for all our members to use and we have several weekly studio groups, catering for various interests.
Having our own studio also enables us to hosts a very varied schedule of workshops, demonstrations and talks throughout the year.

Hope you can come along to see our Plein Air ‘Paint the Park’ competition in Blackpool’s Stanley Park this Saturday 6 July from 10am with 40 artists taking part. Judging is at 4.30pm with public viewing at 5pm.
Also now on display in the Visitor Centre from Tuesday 2nd July until Sunday 2nd August is a colourful and varied exhibition of our members’ paintings. The centre, next to the cafe, is open generally from 11 - 3pm each day excluding Mondays.
